Historic Double Summit Success - Himalayan Mountaineering Expedition Becomes the First Team to Climb Everest and Lhotse in the 2026 Spring Season
Himalayan Mountaineering Expedition would like to bring you some very exciting news of one of the most outstanding feats accomplished by us this year in our Himalayan climbs. We have managed to climb Mount Everest (8,848.86 m) and Mount Lhotse (8,516 m) in one expedition and become the first team to successfully summit both peaks in 2026 spring expedition.
This great success has come thanks to our professionalism and skillfulness which we have always shown in all our expeditions.
Everest Summit – May 14, 2026
The team climbed to the summit of Mount Everest on May 14, 2026, at 8:56 AM Nepal time.
The team was the second expedition to have successfully climbed to the top of Everest in the spring climbing season of 2026, coming just after the rope-fixing team which laid down the route up the mountain.
Reaching the top of the Earth was the ultimate success after months of careful preparation and teamwork.
Recovery Prior to the Upcoming Adventure
Having successfully climbed the peak of Everest, the climbers descended to Camp II, from where they recovered their strength in order to prepare for the next adventure.
A climb of Everest and Lhotse Expedition in one season is deemed as one of the most challenging exploits in Himalayan mountaineering. Despite the fact that a major part of the ascent path of the two peaks passes through Khumbu Icefall, Western Cwm and Lhotse Face, climbing of Lhotse after the climb of Everest demands high-level fitness and acclimatization.
LHOTSE SUMMIT – 18 MAY 2026
Having recuperated at Camp II, the squad made their second summit push and stood on top of Mount Lhotse on May 18, 2026 at 11:25 AM (Nepal Time).
Himalayan Mountaineering Expedition thus become the first expedition group of 2026 spring climbing season to have achieved the ascent of both Mount Everest and Mount Lhotse, regarded among the most significant milestones in this year's Himalayan expeditions.
Repeating both 8,000-meter summits is impressive endurance and technical ability coupled with sensible professionally managed climbing.

- Dawa Nuru Sherpa (Nepal)
