Annapurna Ski Tour - Trek In & Out
Highlights of the Trip
Overview
Ski Touring at the base camp of Annapurna.
Ski Touring in the Annapurna Base Camp is a memorable experience that brings together the Himalayan trekking, exploration in the high altitude and exciting backcountry skiing within one of the most beautiful mountain areas in Nepal. It will take place in the middle of the Annapurna range where skiers and split boarders will be provided with the unique opportunity to enjoy a pure snow, the isolated and mountainous landscape, the spectacular sight of the most recognisable peaks in the world.
Annapurna Base Camp is surrounded by Annapurna, Gangapurna, Machapuchare, and Dhaulagiri to form a breathtaking scenery of a once-in-a-life ski touring adventure. The snowfields, the glaciers, and expansive mountain views of the trail make every day on the trail exciting and greatly rewarding. The trip would be the best mix of challenge, beauty and discovery to the adventure lovers who dream to engage in trekking as well as skiing in the Himalayas.
Vivint Skiing in the Himalayas.
The ski touring experience is tailored to the middle level skiers and split boarders who prefer to explore virgin Himalayan land. Our trip will also involve walking into the Annapurna Base Camp and then, spending our skiing days exploring the area around the camp, trying to find the most favourable day of snow and feel the backcountry freedom. The area boasts of light and dry powder, commonly affectionately referred to as Nepow, and puts skiers on a smooth and thrilling ride by fresh snow.
Contrary to other busy ski resorts, the Annapurna Base Camp is a pure mountain experience in which nature is central to the experience. There is something amazing to see and experience with each turn; the new mountain air, and being so out of the normal world. It is not a mere ski trip, but a real mountain adventure which is a combination of adventure, culture and nature.
Cosy resort at the hill-top.
Throughout the skiing time we will be accommodated in a small lodge at the Annapurna Base Camp. This gives us the chance to take a nice sleep and still be near the best ski touring trails in the vicinity. Being in the base camp will allow us to have more time to explore the surrounding terrain and have numerous days of skiing without the obligation to change camp daily.
The walk in and out of the base camp of Annapurna is also a good experience during the trip. On the route, you will cross scenic mountain villages, forests and alpine sceneries and slowly find yourself in the dramatic high Himalayan setting. The trekking and skiing is an addition that makes the journey all the more gratifying to the ones who seek to have a complete Himalayan experience.
