Overview

Dolma Khang Peak and Ramdung Go (Ramdung Peak) are two stunning trekking peaks located in Nepal’s remote and scenic Rolwaling Valley. Dolma Khang, standing at 6,332 meters, is one of the most accessible 6000-meter peaks, offering a relatively short expedition of around 12–14 days from Kathmandu. The climb is considered moderate and ideal for those looking to step into high-altitude mountaineering. From its summit, climbers are rewarded with breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Gauri Shankar, and Melungtse. The route passes through lush alpine forests and a region rich in biodiversity, home to species like the red panda, musk deer, and snow leopard.

Ramdung Go, at an elevation of 5,925 meters, is another beautiful peak in the same valley, located south of Na village. First climbed in 1952 by a Scottish Himalayan expedition, it is a technically straightforward mountain involving glacier travel and snow slopes. Typically climbed over 20–25 days as part of a longer trek, Ramdung is often combined with the dramatic crossing of the Tashi Lapcha Pass into the Khumbu region. From its summit, climbers enjoy sweeping views stretching from Langtang to Everest, making it a perfect adventure for those seeking a mix of off-the-beaten-path trekking and introductory Himalayan climbing.
